What don't you get

Wow….It can’t have anything to do with production cost, just that theory of the more you charge the more wealthy people think it’s better/one-upmanship/because I can, type of thing?

It is that indeed. My dick is bigger than yours vibes.

I like the records he plays but a few years ago at Printworks he came on for the last set, after Carl Craig and Larry Heard, and did his cut up funk breaks for the first half hour… Jazz style time signatures, haha. Lots of people left. I liked it but I was quite refreshed and it was all swirling around in my head so I was fine. But I know what you mean.

Is a dope dj and a shitty producer.

i like a lot of his records - generally pretty rough and ready but that’s the charm. i wasn’t going to try and play them peak hour, but those 98/99 records were fun to try and work in. i’ll be honest, i haven’t kept up with many of his records in the last 10 years or so. i’m betting i missed a few gems.

i’ve never actually heard him dj live, but MAN i was a huge fan of his mixtapes - his “live in detroit 1999” and “methods of madness” mixes were big deals for me, i picked those things apart!

I chatted with him after a very long and very good set he played in Manchester, very nice fella, down to earth and loves what he does. Some of his records can be a bit too erm noodley at times I agree but I generally like his productions and remixes. I have heard him DJ loads, probably more than any other DJ and have never been let down. Best was when he cleared a dancefloor in Ibiza banging out acid house after Moodymann had rabbited his way through and played five shit records to one very good one for the previous 3 hours which everyone seemed to love!? I do wonder. To hear him in Ibiza was a delight, for him to clear the goons off the dancefloor so we had space was all the better.

I saw him do the same thing in Paris. 10 minutes of Beatless music that got all the knobs off the floor and then he slowly brought the place to a boil over the next hour. Very confident in his craft and an excellent DJ, but lately his records have left me so cold.

not really he is a fantastic producer, one of my favourites full stop but his instagram posts, fuck me he doesn’t half waffle some shite.

Brilliant….cleanse the dancefloor

I saw his live show at the Manchester Ritz a few years back and think his noodly jazz translated very well with a live band. Definitely had the place vibing.

Never seen him live, looks like he has a ‘Bez’ in the band or was that TP?

I love how this has thread has morphed from ‘I don’t get Theo Parrish’ to ‘Theo Parrish is amazing’
