What don't you get

No exceptions.

Yeah same and I’ve been playing the shit out of this song for YEARS and then for some reason a couple of months ago I really listened to what they guy is saying and I was like “uhhhh…”

It’s like that weird power stance thing the tory ministers started doing in photos a few years ago.

Blimey, never really listened properly to that before either.

Let’s just call it an ‘uhhh-reka’ moment

Easy on the eye. A total fake though

if they can get paid, fair play. I’d point the finger at the morons who follow them.

Big if there, most are dreamers taking any old shit and proclaiming they love it. I know one who calls herself the daft title fairly well (the sort you try to hide from when you see out and about) and it is rather embarrassing to see. Car crash stuff but entertaining I suppose.

In what sense?
I played after her at a festival (and admittedly i know little about her) but she was battering through storm trooper-esque techno and electro on a mixture of vinyl and digi, her mixing was incredibly precise and none of it was what i would call commercial. I’ve heard her being called a fake before, but i don’t know enough about her to really understand why that is the case, or she would be perceived that way.

What did she do?

OK maybe it’s just me. Maybe fake is too strong a word. I don’t doubt her technical abilities, I just find her whole Insta persona incredibly tedious, but I guess she’s not alone in that

I could be wrong but I think there’s an element of trolling in her Insta presence. It looks to me like she’s on a wind up a lot of the time

she’s going to get abuse because she has the audacity to be stylish, talented and a naturally pretty woman in a male-dominated sphere, so obviously a lot of bedroom techno guys are going to have Very Strong Opinions about her. Same as Peggy Gou.

That’s not to say there aren’t valid criticisms to make of either, but I always think the level of vitriol aimed at these women is disproportionate to their profile and shortcomings. I’m not Kraviz’s biggest fan and I think everything since her album has been diminishing returns, but I do think there’s an element of online misogyny to what she gets and the volume of it.

So I think if people are going to have nothing good to say about you, you may as well wind them up. That Resident Advisor interview video where they filmed her in a bubble bath was some expert trolling, everyone involved knew exactly what the reaction would be and it worked. She’s big with the same audience who’ve brushed off Jackmaster’s antics etc. so I think at this point she’s basically playing the game made on unfair rules.

and this is not meant as an accusation of misogyny at anyone here, more the general culture around why she’s seen as this villain of the “scene.”

100%, and well said

She had a fall out with Vakula, not just her but a couple of other female DJ’s did at the same time. I can’t quite remember what it was about but didn’t read well on social media as per. Office politics ha.

She seems very passionate about the music to be fair, it sounds pretty shite in main to me now but she was a fairly decent DJ and producer in the beginning from bits I recall. Some of her online mixes where she is more chilled out are still ok. The dancing is not though.
