might be able to enjoy that in the right frame of mind tbh.
Remember seeing him at the Northern in Manchester many moons ago and his set blew me away. A year or so later he was headlining at some event (WHP Maybe?). Friggin awful! Like you said, too much talking, levels all over the show and the oddest set.
Theo P > Moodymann imo.
Not seen him play sers that I haven’t loved but can see why some of his sets are controversial. Much better producer than DJ for my money.
Had 6m on in background what I thought was Stuart Maconie in for Craig ( & typically like his soul sets on)
Its a saved Rave Forever ( I was playing the ALFOS one & then the 2 step garage one this PM!)
Oakey plays Izit Stories ( and said its from 87 - Is that right) and then Stary Eyed Surprise which is the worst record ever
I know he produced it BUT…
Turned over to Stuart
Nah, Stories was huge in summer 89 - don’t kno when they made it tho and he got a promo. Doubt it was 87 when he only got into B half way thru, but Alfredo may have played og. Yeah, SES is pure shite.
this guy, really, really loves the taste of boot.
what a clout-chasing suck-up. i hope this lil’ tantrum ruins his career.
Ha, yeah, same, saw him once back in 2000, he was pretty good. This was the worst pro set I have seen in my life, and I’ve seen some rubbish.
I knew to stay away from this one. Both MM and CC are way better producers than DJs. A mate also said they packed way too many people in so space to dance was limited.
whenever I caught Moodymann in London it was a bit frustrating. Beautiful segues and nods to genius (technologystolemyvinyl, jan, shades of jae etc) interspersed with REM or dodgy pop. However, mostly remember him turning up at The End once, face all bandaged up like a mummy
in Carl Craig’s case, I just don’t think he cares anymore, which is sad because production-wise he ruled the world
Well there was 2 stages, both outside, add relentless monsoonal rain all night, not perfect. But I got to get frisk searched 3 times by angry security, so all round… u get the picture.
For me CC was the saviour of the evening, but only really comparing to the insulting display of MM. Yeah there was a time when Carl was up there in rarefied air.
Good lord, doesn’t he just?
yeah I concur, but Sadar Bahar > both from a strictly djing perspective.
Sadar better than Theo?
American Football.
I’m pretty proud that until I saw it in the news today I had no idea it was happening!
Ditto!
