Turnmills used to do burgers in the 90s i remember. You’d walk down the entrance stairs and someone would be off their head dancing topless in the hallway between the two rooms, and then someone else would come down the adjacent staircase with a burger on a paper plate.
Late 90’s earlly 2000 there were a lot of venues in Belfast running clubs on restautant liciences.
Vicos (the brunswick club) was my favourite. Four small floors of indie, house, techno and hip hop in a fire hazard venue. My favourite club ever. Your entrance fee was for the pizza, with free enterntainment. No one was there for pizza.
Silent discos
The silent disco walking tours during the Edinburgh Fringe.
Who the fuck actually does that and how are they convinced it’s a good thing to do?!
Just had someone buy a record off me on Discogs.
They gave me an alternative address to send it to, which isn’t a problem, but they asked me not to send any invoices or advertise the fact that it’s come from me.
The reason being that the person buying from me has an existing order with another buyer that they’re unable to fulfil. They’ve asked me to send the record instead, knowing I have it in stock. They also state that they “know the customer well and are willing to risk it”.
They’ve placed orders with me in the past, and asked me to do the same thing (same wording everytime). Doesn’t seem right somehow.
Am I overthinking this?
How much did they charge to the buyer compared to what they are paying you?
Good question. I don’t know.
Edit: I looked at the sales history and interestingly a copy was ordered a couple of days before mine at twice the price. I bet that’s them. Wording seems to check out against other stuff they have for sale too.
Sheisters everywhere!
Was it someone called dempster13 by any chance?
Yes that’s them.
Yea that’s them.

They’ve done this 15 times to me!
Fuck that. I’m cancelling the order and refunding them.
In my case, it seems as though they’ve taken more money from their buyer and then bought from me at half the price.
“Honest and trustworthy seller” apparently.
Just checked his profile, got 95k items for sale!!
Yeah via other sellers lol!
Does beg the question why did the original buyer purchase it from them and not you?
Yeah something isn’t right.
Discogs sellers. If it’s listed and I buy it, make sure it exists in your stock. If it’s gonna take weeks to send it to me let me know. If it doesn’t get to me please stop repeatedly telling me how many years you have been selling records for and how that is proof of your honesty. And if the record is unplayable give me a refund. It’s quite simple and no matter what has happens remember that I just tried to buy a record, it’s not a competition of who is more honest. I could rant on but I’m sure I made my point. Im getting a bit weary of fighting wars of attrition via messages.
Nail on head.
I’m also amazed at how much quality variation there is in records described as NM.
VG+ at best most of the time.
Ah yes the mystery of the NM, it’s quite an enigma these days. My personal favourite is the very NM looking 45 that has had 20 years of jukebox knitting needle stylus bulldozing the grooves. It is visually NM, but the tune is white noise.
