Brilliant that eh?
Been listening to Ross Allenâs recent âThatâs How It Isâ tribute shoes on NTS, very good. Brown Paper Bag gets a spin and had me wondering if that bassline was a sample, which led me to this. A few nice little stories wrapped up in it
Good watch that. Still an incredible tune.
Believe it or not dropping Brown Paper Bag at this gig I did in Exeter warming up for Prime Cuts 20 plus years ago was one of best DJing moments of my life. Only D&B record Iâve ever played out. Immense tune!!
Ronnie Scott and friends reminiscing, I donât know anything about Jazz and donât know any of the others in it (apart from âSelwyn Frogittâ) but itâs a really nice & funny little doc. with some great old shots of Soho.
I was lucky that my wife worked for Universal mid 90s when all Roniâs tracks came out so had ( note , not have!) came out
Wished I kept them but with turntable in the loft, small child & never going out much & never having anything beyond a bottle of wine I foolishly decided I didnt need any DnB at home

Did well on Discogs though
Wow what a great watch. The terrifying thing is these guys are probably only in their late 50s early 60sâŚ
Really fascinating reminder of the huge influence second generation Jewish people had on the whole London jazz scene.
This is pretty old but new for me, and a great look into NY club sound systems.
That was great - thanks! I love the track bEing played in it but canât find any credits. Will carry on searching.
great stuff, that has sent me down this neumann turntable wormholeâŚ
