Just discovered this band, the album gets re-released by the Numero Group. An indie post-rock take on gamelan music and also has a kraut vibe over it, I like it very much:
Really nice! Love that.
Pete Waterman feeds geese & talks about dance music
Dave’s a lovely guy, good to hear so many old names being mentioned! Not 100% my music but always seemed to be adjacent (MK back then was a small scene)
Apart from George the rest of them are like an accidental Partridge convention.
Late night discogs wormhole led me to this:
We finally get to see the face of the type of man who sticks sparkly puppy stickers on 12"s that you find in second hand shops…
no judgment implied, but that dude and i approach records in a completely different way.
I like how thorough organisation can possibly result in a good outcome, and completely scattershot, pressure-cooked, creative scramble can also make magic. I get a bit confused when I see these vids because I think ‘why would I want to think/organise/dj like someone else, how would that benefit anyone?’. But to each their own of course.
Yeah, that tour was a bit of a dream come true for me.
