Guess what I’m YouTubing right now?
Not sure if this Dream 2 Science episode was posted already? Some outstanding nerding that weaves in Newcleus, Rhythm is a dancer and Love is the message.
I’ve had the Dream 2 Science record for years and don’t think I ever listened to the title track until I heard it on Do You this morning, so good.
One of my all time faves - bought it off Mark Ravenhill in the Vinyl Solution basement if that means anything to anyone.
Love the comparison to to Love Is The Message at the end of the vid.
2 million copies of No Parlez
The ongoing fascination with the spanish experimental minimal folkish scene continues. Guitarist Miguel Herrero has played on several amazing releases on the excellent label Grabaciones Accidentales. Here he is playing some nice mellow dual guitar with his wife. Nice YT find.
This is great, Jazzy Jay giving some kids a scratch tutorial on a TV show with a 15yo looking Ad Rock a part of the audience and asking Banbaataa a question about his own record lol.
plus this Kool Keith locking as Jay cuts up some breaks.
Every single video from the Beat tour that started two days ago. Tony Levin, Danny Carey, Adrian Belew and Steve Vai reliving the 3 coloured albums King Crimson made in the 80s (Discipline, Beat, Three of A Perfect Pair), it doesn’t get better than this, must have tickets when they tour Europe, drooling all over the place right now…
Part Brilliant, part Brasseye
Network 7 on Ch4 Acid Special from 88
That was excruciating in so many ways. It captured the messy aspect and that’s about it.

That store sucks shit though. You pull records out, he tells you it’ll cost $20, $30, $40 or $50 depending on what I’m assuming is a whim. Records are at most VG. And honestly there is nothing in there.
I will say this though, he could probably sell the store empty for $5m given its location on melrose. So much foot traffic.
I confess a big part of me refuses to give in to the hipster aesthetic and all that but after watching this I can’t help but admire the guys. neve rknew they could do all this live. I’d love to go see them now…
I would love to have seen them do Moon Safari live but the ticket prices were a total piss take IMO.
I think I’ve played this video more than any other on YouTube over the years, so good.

Thanks for sharing that link. Their performance suggested an easy-listening version of New Order’s “The perfect kiss” video.
Cherry-Coloured Funk live 1990.
