Legends was decent although the main turkish character was reminiscent of pops from the League of Gentlemen…kept expecting him to exclaim “9 maverick bars!!” at any moment
Did you spot Sanjay from Eastenders though?
Only just clicked now you mention it!
I’m watching Euphoria on the recommendation of an ex-colleague.
Really like it (I think) but my 18 yr old asked me why I was watching a ‘youngsters programme’?
Same!
Season 3 wrapped last night, and have to say for all its faults, it was a great finale. It went as far as it was possible to get from series one and two. Super indulgent, massively tonally uneven and some kind of confused messaging about the impact of social media algorithms, but it was still brilliantly shot, well acted and just great fun to watch
Colman Domingo is such a fucking dude.
Watched the first two episodes of the Gareth Southgate drama which is unintentionally hilarious and utterly awful. Shame as I generally like James Graham’s writing.
Watched first ep of Tip Toe on four. Off to a promising start, some of the scripting seems a little clunky at times but thought provoking so far
We’re loving this in my house. Also getting a touch of The Holdovers and The Fog, it’s got a great sense of humour.
How have they messed that up? Thought the play was great!
Joseph Fiennes doesn’t work for me. My ex saw the play and loved it.
I saw it at the National and tbf it was great.
Powered through all 5 series of The Boys. Feel slightly jaded by the whole experience, not sure I’d recommend it!
Really enjoying 2 weeks in August. Shades of White Lotus in places but good fun.
My youngest is pressuring us to watch The Boys (he’s just finished it). I feel a bit jaded already without even knowing anything about it.
I’m surprised that nobody has mentioned Half Man in this thread.
Gadd is as an incredible actor as he is writer. Exhausting watch in the same way as Dead Man’s Shoes. The end game of toxic masculinity. Brilliant programme.
Completely agree. It was exhausting. Great series though.
I watched all of Dear England. It was… weird. No doubt Joseph Fiennes is uncanny as Southgate, but it does slip into caricature occasionally. Havent seen the play but I suspect it hasn’t adapted to TV that well. Just feels kind of odd
I joined MUBI for a free trial to watch Sentimental Value, Sirat and some other films… anyway, if you use this link you get a free month and so do I
Worth a binge
