Nighty Night?
Dark comedy style?

Can’t believe you’ve ommited Mrs Brown’s Boys…
Brilliant stuff! Keep em coming. Can be non-comedy / dark comedy too. I’m a fan of Black Mirror, Slow Horses etc.
You may like this, can be very dark mind you, but it’s also very good, and 9 seasons to work through…
The 12 Days of Christine episode is one of the best bits of British TV of the last 25 years
A glaring omission!
Watched the first episode of Alien Earth. Been looking forward to it for months. Seems very promising, looks super expensive. Has the atmosphere and aesthetic of the early films without feeling trite. Excited to see how it plays out
On Disney+
Just finished it now. Bleak, moving and profoundly beautiful TV. Havent watched anything like that in a long while. Cheers for the recommendation. And, yes, Jared Harris is so good isnt he?
I REALLY like it so far. It’s early days, but so far it’s much better than expected. It capture the genuine suspense and dread of the first 2 films really well. Plenty of edge-of-the-seat moments where you know something bad is going to happen, and they tease it out unbearably.
Lots of fun.
Can anyone warn me off sites where I might accidentally illegally watch Alien Earth in glorious high definition?
no vpn?
Battled our way through Queer on MUBI last night. It got better but initially both boring and pretentious (a bit like William Burroughs, hey?)
Can’t understand how you’d cast Daniel Craig as a tall, thin, effete 20-something but there you go.

Definitely doesn’t have it and I didn’t watch it last night.
Looks like one to avoid
I’m trying to imagine who loudly I would shout “just fuck off” if he tried to impose his jollity on me at the start of an 8 hour shift for fuck all on a Monday morning.
Amazing how they kept such a high standard of one off, original stories going over 9 seasons.
The episode with Sheridan Smith and “Cheese And Crackers” episodes are two of my favourites.
“The devil of Christmas” one with the Krampus is etched in my head, so dark!
I think I actually still need to finish seasons 8 and 9
Was great I thought, liking that it’s a weekly release. Agree on the aesthetic (once I’d changed the picture from being dynamic)
Just watched the first episode of Alien Earth. The initial stuff on the spaceship was so beautifully done. Really nailed the aesthetic and feel of the first film. The rest was a bit less successful for me, but still about a thousand times better than Romulus. I’ll definitely keep watching.
