Looks like one to avoid

I’m trying to imagine who loudly I would shout “just fuck off” if he tried to impose his jollity on me at the start of an 8 hour shift for fuck all on a Monday morning.

Amazing how they kept such a high standard of one off, original stories going over 9 seasons.
The episode with Sheridan Smith and “Cheese And Crackers” episodes are two of my favourites.

“The devil of Christmas” one with the Krampus is etched in my head, so dark!

I think I actually still need to finish seasons 8 and 9

Was great I thought, liking that it’s a weekly release. Agree on the aesthetic (once I’d changed the picture from being dynamic)

Just watched the first episode of Alien Earth. The initial stuff on the spaceship was so beautifully done. Really nailed the aesthetic and feel of the first film. The rest was a bit less successful for me, but still about a thousand times better than Romulus. I’ll definitely keep watching.

Episode 2: disney arrives in spades, especially in the score, but it’s still an enjoyable watch.

Just watched ep 2, if it keeps this up we’re in for a banger. Love the little touches to the first films, right down to the camera movements and sound effects. If those Pulse rifles didnt have a phase fx on them I was gonna be pissed

Noah Hawley who did the Fargo series is the showrunner and writer so we should be in good hands

Pretty much how we felt about it. Gorgeous interiors, not much substance. Guadagnino is hit or miss for me. His “Suspiria” remake was another one that failed to launch. But “Call Me by Your Name” is a classic and “Challengers” is brilliant.

Twisted Metal on Peacock/NBC.

I don’t play video games so I had no idea it was based on one but there are times when its genuinely laugh out loud funny. Sweet Tooth is one hell of a character

Watched the first two episodes and enjoyed them. None of the newer films impressed that much so went in with pretty low expectations.

I agree with Piers that the initial scenes were really promising but then the rest doesn’t stand up to much scrutiny.

I’m not sure whether it’s reassuring or depressing that in the nearly 200 years that have passed since WW2 the method for search and rescue hasn’t advanced beyond a small group of soldiers carrying flashlights and guns shouting ‘Hello?”.

I found the ever present shower of sparks in every scene quite amusing, they’d obviously got a bloke out of shot with an angle grinder and a scaffold tube and he’d probably been paid for the week so better use him.

The fact that the medic brother failed to mention that he’d just had a fight with an alien and been tased by a chap who froze it and took it away in a bag would’ve made me cross if I’d been in the same building. Fair warning and all that.

I do like Timothy Oliphant’s Sting from Dune impression though and will probably keep watching,

I really wanted to love Alien Earth, but it really dropped off after the first half hour for me. Hoping it will pick up again, but I’m not filled with hope.

finally finished andor last night. i hardly ever watch series, but as a star wars kid growing up, i felt i owed that lil’ kid the investment of watching the adult part of that universe.

it was good, and i wish that was more the tone of the star wars IP going forward. not everything has to be magic, chosen ones, and muppety lookin’ CGI space creatures.
