Even the blasters have a proper physical effect on the people they hit and the Stormtroopers look for the very first time like they’ve had some military training.
Also the nod to the Wannsee Conference and the messy compromises rebels have to make all add to the grittiness and it feels like a proper mirror of our times.

The fascist subtext feels stronger this season, and the Nazi coding is actually quite overt. Its sort of a shame its only going to be two series and we largely know where the plot is heading. If it wasnt beholden to the events of Rogue One it would be fascinating where they could take it.
Hopefully they will do more adult centic series instead of announcing more and more Skywalker spin offs

The empire has always been single-species focussed (and even historically white male specific). I did expect to see more of a melting pot in the rebel factions, and also the wedding scenes, but maybe Mon Mothma is actively blending in to that scene on purpose.

I kinda agree with you. Im quite enjoying it, but it’s all very surface level. The cast are all very watchable which has been enough to keep me interested.

Does anyone actually ever have any joy getting these sports streams to work? Ive heard its just wall to wall pop up ads, and the content never plays. Is there some knack to it?

Very rarely worth it in my experience. A dodgey Firestick on the otherhand is much better. So I’ve heard.
