Friend saw them a couple of weeks ago, said it was the best thing he’d seen since 1998. Not sure what he saw in ‘98 that he was comparing it to
I’d like to watch this with our teenager (15) - appropriate or absolutely not?
I guess just about, lots of it is in Gaelic with subtitles might be a bore for some, drug stuff which is funny rather than gritty, nowhere near as bad as Trainspotting for instance. Might prompt some questioning about the comparative effects of Ket vs Cocaine. Don’t have any stand out memories of anything too gnarly or upsetting.
Edit: Just looked and it’s an 18, so what do I know.
Thanks, that’s useful. Certs mean next to nothing when you’re dealing with teenagers, they’re all different
Binged this. Superb I thought…acting brilliant throughout. Peter Mullan’s performance had shades of red riding etc…he’s played some nasty bastards hasn’t he?! Deffo recommend this
Update: ended up going nowhere. 4/10
Saved me loads of time thanks
Yeah four hours of life I’ll never get back
Yeah I knocked it on the head after three episodes
Beatles '64 on Disney+
The ‘never before seen footage’ spiel can get a bit tired but there’s loads of stuff I’ve never seen before from a camera crew entenched with them in their New York hotel during their first US visit. Catches them at thier most jovial before they became more guarded, and they seem genuinely bemused at the all the attention
Hunting Mr Nice on iPlayer is pretty good
Finished this recently and enjoyed it, pretty light, gentle fare considering the subject matter of growing old and everything that comes with it but it has an easy going charm, much like Ted Danson.
Not seen this yet, the documentary it’s based on was great too
Bit bleak but interesting and well made doc on consumption, waste+ recycling, amazon/apple etc
Top tip. Do NOT attempt to watch The Substance on a busy train journey to Manchester
Dune: Prophecy feels like a bit of a wet lettuce
