What are you watching?

Ep 5 was amazing. It’s exceeding my expectations but then I shouldnt have been surprised it being HBO.
It’ll be on end of year lists no doubt.

Yeah really enjoying it as most people are. I didn’t know anything about it until Joe mentioned it on here… :+1::+1:

Just finished the new Brandon Cronenberg flick and this beauty was the ending.

Am I missing something with the series Cunk on Earth? Everybody is raving about it but I tried to watch it and it’s trying way too hard to be irreverent and cramming too many “jokes” into every scenario.

I feel this show is appealing to those who have never seen Allan Partridge. I am a fan of Diane Morgan, but this is not good.

One trick pony, seen her schtick once you’ve seen it all. The problem is all of the experts are in on the joke.

Welcome To Wrexham. Disney+

Good documentary following Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mchelhennys buyout of Wrexham FC. Doesnt really satisfactorily answer the question of why two Hollywood A listers bought a non league football club but their intentions seem genuine enough. There’s a great cast of colourful characters from the local community too. Sort of a real life Ted Lasso doc.

That’s what I felt as well. It was lacking a little outrage.

What did you reckon? I think he’s definitely showing promise even if this didn’t totally nail it. Mia Goth completely steals the show.

Enjoyed that myself a little bit ago. They do seem to make something of a comedic case that Rob did it exclusively to have a reason to be friends with Ryan. Hard to say what the actual reason was, they do seem to point at money being the main thing early on. Rob was keen to do it himself but didn’t have the money to do it by himself, therefore reached out to the wealthiest person he had a rapport with. Interesting that they only knew each other through social media prior to the team though. Hard to say how much is real/manufactured there, but it was an enjoyable docuseries nonetheless. I don’t even care about sports whatsoever, I probably never will, but it does make a compelling case for why some people get enraptured with it the way they do.

The Wu-Tang Clan series on Disney+. Pretty trashy in places but it was very enjoyable

I did wonder what US audiences would make of it. There are some extremely local people in there. Had to chuckle when they would randomly throw up the subtitles

Loved it. But, disclaimer, I am a total Cronenberg fanboy, be it father or son.

Enjoying ‘The Last Of Us’ and ‘The Bear’ after seeing the recommendations on here.

Also just watched ‘Untouchable’ with François Cluzet and Omar Sy which really made me laugh. Had it on DVD for years and only just got round to seeing it.

Really loved ‘Ted Lasso’ which I was surprised by. A heartwarming, easy watch.

Rewatching Arrested Development as it’s not going to be on UK Netflix for much longer. The first couple of seasons are just so damn good. Can’t believe its 20 years old - Jason Bateman looks so young compared to Ozark.
