It totally is. The backstory on how discovering whalesong helped save them, and the future bit about how decoding it could help us understand our place in nature… Stays with you

It’s rubbish. Had a few work people over from Paris recently and gave them the names of a few spots. Next day they tell me they were all closed.

Think the clue is in her name!

She must have an excellent agent because she was awful as a stand up comedian too IMHO :grimacing:

She was getting rinsed on twitter at the weekend, apparently she’s close to Danny Baker. Don’t know how much weight that carries if any.

She used to be on Danny Bakers radio show muttering in the background on BBC London after Robert Elms.

She always seemed like a token appointment to me; almost to show that London was trying to keep up with Amsterdam & Berlin etc

I remember she was nowhere when fabric nearly went under a few years ago, and she should have been all over that

I saw Wil from Ransom Note today and we were chatting about this and he was saying lots of representatives of some of the big clubs had attended parliament. Not sure what to discuss…

Finished Get Shorty a bit ago. Okay novel. Strong moments. I would’ve handled the story differently, would’ve gone deep into the production of the film that so much of the story is slowing building. Yes, the novel and its events are largely what the film ends up being, but I wanted the characters to actually get into the production and filming of the thing. The novelty comes in Chili, a loan shark, functioning (and succeeding) within the confines of the industry. Desperately wanted more of that.

Moved on to Maximum Bob, also by Elmore Leonard, proving to be a much more engaging read for some reason. I think it’s in the absurdity and satire of it.
