Northern Soul is a pretty welcoming scene in my experience. Some of the best nights out I’ve ever had were in the old Belmont Social Club for Aberdeen NS club nights. Rough as fuck, on the Black and Tans all night, then a few Spicy and Coke to round it off! He sounds like a good time, probably stays busy slagging off the DJ for not playing the ‘original cover up’ :roll_eyes:

That would have been good in the House Clubs

I tried to make a n AI picture of a sign saying ‘More Hardfloor’ but this is best Google AI did ( Im sure there are better image generators)

Was the story about the 5k sound systems in Birmingham laundrettes true? I’ve always wondered. In Biorhytjms they said they put the sound systems in laundrettes that were open 24 hours a day so they could have raves and not get bothered by the police.

Biorhytjms? I must have had the Dutch import!

:joy: I’m not actually sure about the laundrette thing either but I remember reading on the sleeve too… Perhaps a Birmingham based TP er may know more… . Although I grew up not a million miles away in Cov we moved upto North Wales when I was 16 in '89. I probably wouldn’t have got into any of this type of music had I been knocking around with crowd I went to school with
