Appreciate the source is a fairly right of centre site but I thought this was quite a plausible article on AI as a bubble, making the rich richer and not actually transforming very much else. Let’s see.

On that note, if you want your Google search to show without the Ai nonsense at the top you can change your default search to www.udm14.com and it won’t show :+1:

Was getting genuinely worried about my increasingly eroded attention span but this book hooked me in nicely

Interesting read.

My partner is neurodivergent and finds AI to be an amazing tool for executive disfunction. They posit that if statistics were collated on how many neurodivergent people have been able to finish degrees as a percentage of whole - it will’ve risen significantly since the advent of AI.

A friend of ours basically uses it as her PA and it’s become essential - similar scenario

Always been incentive enough for me

Friday night in, just me and the cats! Recently picked this up and now really getting into the stride… hugely academic essay, but with a real flow and poetry too.

“The ultimate expression of sovereignty largely resides in the power and capacity to dictate who is able to live, and who must die.”

When we are evolved yet reduced to Human capital, then if you have become surplus, and your worth is no longer useful, then you fall into the category of ‘Bare life’. Essentially you can be left to die or killed by the sovereign power. And if you are unlucky enough to get in the way of Western expansion and colonialism (see Isreal/Palestine), then unfortunately you are Homo sacer.

In the logic of Human capital and Neo-liberalism some Humans are just more Human than others. The working class in this country have been reduced to Human capital, and in some cases to Bare life as well (not being able to access housing and healthcare) but scapegoating a different Homo sacer, a different set of ‘Bare life’ (immigrants) doesn’t help anyone.

Neo-liberalism has got the Human capital which doesn’t have much sovereignty (Reform/Far Right protesters) fighting the Bare life, neither of which have very little power. Punching down when we should all be punching up because we’re all threatened with becoming Bare life.

Here’s Bob with the weather

Ah yeah ok. UK are presumably such uncharitable fuckers that they introduced a quid incentive years ago. Way the economy is going they’re going to have to change every trolley in the country to accept a £5 coin soon

Oh come on, that’s easy with four fully functioning wheels! I’d like to see them do that with the one I was battling around Sainsbury’s yesterday.
