Is it good? I’m so stoked, trying to find time to get absolutely blazed and fire it up tonight.

My text to a friend after listening-

My curiosity got the better of me on this pharaoh album. His playing is so beautiful but the floating points guy is basically a Payless Eno and his backgrounds add nothing- bad sound design uninventive twinkly synth washes. It also seems suspiciously influenced by Jon Tchicai With Strings.

Full disclosure in case it’s not obvious- I’m not a floating points fan to me he’s the daptone of experiment electronic music, his impressiveness diminishes in direct proportion to your familiarity with his influences. That said Sanders sounds incredible and I love it when he lets the lyrical part of his tone shine and kind of chills out on the sheets of skronk a little bit (though I’m definitely down with sheets of skronk).
