Had that same Cafe Del Mar tape
One of the best mixes ever.

Stumbled on a rufdug piers sf session on mixcloud. Lovely stuff
for whatever reason, this has entered heavy rotation on the local radio station and it’s irritating the hell out of me. they play it frequently enough that my 7yo knows the lyrics thanks to car rides with mom.
Trying to wake myself up after three days of 12 hours shifts.
Ditto, still got it in the loft I think.
Another cherished tape that has made its way to Mixcloud as these things tend to do.https://www.mixcloud.com/keinosuketakada/dj-eddie-e-2-matos-history-of-dance-classics-dmt-013/
Listened to a lot of Ben Lukas Boysen today. ‘Love’ is wonderful

I’d rather have that than the utter shite that is on US radio stations but I can see how that would wear thin.
truth.
KEXP isn’t “commercial radio” as such but once in a while they decide to push something decidedly “pop” (bordering on novelty) and you can be sure to hear it during peak times. the confidence man track and that terrible wet leg song - pretty much every time i get in the car, one or the other is playing.
quick edit: for all of my frustrations with KEXP - dj riz is a true treasure of a human AND as a DJ. he’s as real as they come so i’m always pleased when he’s on (and he’s on right now). he’s seattle’s true mayor.
Hooked from the first track… If you know, you know
HIGH ON HOPE 1990 CLASSIC HOUSE NY/Classics by Frankie Foncett on #SoundCloud
Remember that Dust Up tape
Great find, going to take a while to get through FF’s SC…
