What are you listening to now, I mean right now in this moment? (Part 2)

Garth - For The Record March 2nd 2026 by Garth DJ on #SoundCloud

Like a water in the morning

Ah Bjørn Torske, such an enigma. Love his early work on Svek, Ferox en Djax-up-beats.

Isabella is the blueprint of what a deephouse record should be. Should have been released on Naked Music :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You prompted another listen of this. Admittedly, it’s more Todd Terje than Bjorn Torske but…who cares?

This was sounding sweet driving around Orkney on night shift as the sun was coming up.

An all time favorite of mine. Has warm psychedelic properties. Mayday had a hand in the production too. Reminds me of early June 1990.

Yeah, a very underrated second album. Eyes of Sorrow, Stella, Emotions Electric :ok_hand:

Totally. And when you know the context of what he was actually going through after 808 state - to produce that album is pretty mind blowing. Then he goes to visit Detroit round about that time and all the Detroit folk show up to his gig (Carl Craig etc) wearing “Get Gerald paid” T-shirts?! Really life affirming.

Listening to the interview on YouTube with Gerald in another post, it sounds like the early 808 stuff (Prebuild I guess, but it’s not explicitly mentioned) and Pacific state were him. Lots of water under the bridge and probably many stories. But it’s just great tunes and lovely personal memories.

Eddie Richards used to close Outer Limits with the Peel session version. People close to tears of joy…
