Went on a skate trip for a few weeks 1990 and wore two swatches as I thought it was cool…with the one hour time difference I always knew what time it was at home. Good times

can’t go wrong here

definitely cool.
even cooler with three like in your photo here.

Stainless steel case Casio up on End for AUD55 (which I’m guessing is not many British pounds for those of you over there who don’t need to then factor in postage to Australia).

Usually these have resin cases plus I haven’t seen this grey facia (???) variant anywhere else, and it seems suspiciously cheap, so I reckon pull the trigger if you’re local.

Some money on that table…

I’ve got the original black & gold one somewhere, my dad bought it for my birthday when it came out. Apparently it’d be worth something if it wasn’t knackered.

I think this might be seconde seconde. Started selling seconds hands to fit to people’s vintage Rolexes but has been going berserk on brand collaboration the last few years. Good on him.

I mean anyone can talk about watches for ten minutes (tops) but an hour ffs schills to a man.

Of course there’s a thread on watches… seeking some advice here. I know nothing about watches so bare with me.

I managed to get this vintage Seamaster for a decent price from an auction house maybe 4 years ago. I took it for some basic maintenance right after buying it, having it cleaned, changing the strap etc. And I took it in once more after the lagging started. Worked fine for a few months after which it started lagging again. No idea where the fault lies but surely it’s a mechanic / engine thing?

Thinking of sending it in for repair, again, and bracing myself for the bill. But before I do that, any ideas as to what could/would need fixing? Interested in recommendations for repairs as well. I’m based in Helsinki but plenty of mates in the UK / Europe who could act as couriers if needed.

Lag usually means it need a service. Internal clean and replace gaskets etc.

There’s some independent watch repair servicers around that will be good but at half the price of the brands own

There’s a specialist vintage Omega shop at the entrance to Burlington Arcade. No idea on what they’d charge though.

I travel a lot and am very aware of people having very expensive watches taken off them in the hustle and bustle of an airport. Paris seems particularly egregious. My wife sells Rolexes and I have had a thought about getting one at cost but if it got stolen at an airport I’d be devastated.

I have a rule of no more than $1000 and my current rotation won’t blow any of you away but it does the job.

Every thinks the Casio is the most expensive one.

That’s a beauty.

I bought this 1962 Rolex in Buenos Aires about 20 yrs ago when exchange rate was $2 to the £. Paid $1000 for it. Don’t wear it anymore as the face is very small. Should probably sell it.
