Warsaw tips and recommendations

Off to Warsaw next week for a long weekend break. Going to check out the neon light and poster museums. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations for the usual stuff - restaurants, record shops, bars and culture. Thanks.

If it’s your first time in Warsaw I’d have a wander round the old town, rebuilt by the Communist Party after the war with building materials from cities all over Poland. There’s plenty of grim historical stuff - the Warsaw Uprising and the Jewish History museums are both worth a visit.

Food and drink changes pretty quickly but last time we were there this place was good Norblin Factory - Fabryka Norblina

It’s not far from the Palac Kutura, Stalin’s ‘comradely gift’ to the people of Warsaw. You used to be able to get up to the top and its a great view from there.

Depending on how much time you have you could cross the river and have a wander around Praga. Used to be an industrial workers area of the city but is now slowly getting gentrified so there’s all sorts of interesting arty stuff going on there. You can then head to Saska Kepa which is where a lot of the smaller embassies are and plenty of good food and drink on and around ulica Francuska.

I’ll post more if I remember more specific recommendations

Thank you!

Yeah It is my first time in Warsaw. Staying pretty near the old town and definitely up for a wander round that area.

A couple of other people have recommended Fabryka Norblina so we will head down there one day and check out the Palac Kutura. Praga sounds great too.
