Well, we have the Italians Do It Better thread, so I thought it would be equally entertaining to have a German thread… what are some of your most loved German productions? For me the list is endless and spans so many genres, but I’ll keep it balearic for now and kick off with this belter from 86
Nice thread idea. Was considering starting a French one, but German productions are equally endless.
Keeping it on a balearic tip.
@Dijon and @Discophrenia thanks, keep them coming, however I fear I shouldn’t have started this thread as it may well lead to me spending money that I simply don’t have!
This could be a looonggg thread…
Always loved these 2, timeless
When Munich meets Detroit for a remake of a NY classic
West Bam - Alarm Clock
Trying to keep it as Balearic as possible to start with, as if we go into techno, there’s just too much.
Great film x
early 90s was a sucker for Jam & Spoon, Westbam, Torsten Fenslau, B-Tribe et al. but time hasn’t been kind to most of it imo…
loved the acid techno for a while - mainly the more accessible end, the likes of Hardfloor mainly and from there on to Innervisions, Henrik Schwarz, Compost Black all those guys
I started to get more immersed in the earlier experimental music on the back of that fascinating BBC primer on the ‘kraut’ scene. A pal in Hastings gave me a CD with Neu on it and it blew my mind. Saw Michael Rother play here and was brilliant.
Great topic. Can’t wait to hear all of the recommendations.
My own contribution is Robotism by Methusalem. It’s a space disco vibe which always sounds a bit like a Western theme tune to me as well. In a good way.
Definitely played by Bill at Low Life parties and I’m sure Luke Una may have thrown it into one of his shows too.
I’m still after a copy of this at a reasonable price, or a decent rip. Now I’ve just made it harder.
Anyway, great album.
ooft, that’s an absolute belter
