When the layered vocals come in on this at about 4:00 it’s like the sun coming out after all that stripped-back bass and cowbell.

Loved this so much when I was at College bought it even though I didn’t have a record player at the time. Still great.

I think I share your penchant for this style because you listed some of my faves, tho I’d never have pinpointed the vocal layering as the reason. Have you explored the worlds of my two favorite Roberts: Fripp and Wyatt (who collaborated a lot but also employ this style often). Saw The Roches above, but Fripp does this a lot in other productions too.
