GTA 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony had the best pause music.

What was that Playstation game that had from Underworld, Orbital etc on it? Felt like there was a brief moment where UK game & music scenes overlapped.
My son made me play Dying Light, it has an appropriately Carpenteresque / synthwave soundtrack.

Wipeout

Not really a OST but it is related Music for Save Rooms 1 & 2 | John Also Bennett

minimal music conceived as infinitely looping and morphing compositions for “save rooms” - temporary safe spaces within video game maps

Nice and chill

Absolutely nothing can beat the greatest pause jam of all time:

Love a good “pause jam”

Another classic one was from one fo the GTA4 DLCs:

I watched a good documentary recently about the development of GoldenEye. It was produced by a small team of UK nerds and misfits working out of a farmhouse in a nowhere town in rural Britain, for a small independent developer. They got the rights by chance, and basically made it up as they went along. Nowadays the game would be a AAA release for one of the huge publishers with millions behind it in marketing. The game basically paved the way for multiplayers like Call Of Duty and stealth based shooters which are huge today
