Vangelis - Let It Happen

What’s the best version? Can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the Beatfanatic version tbh.

Did it ever find its way onto a 12" (B-Side), or is the Earth album version the one to go for? Anyone got that Supersound edit? Does it stay faithful to the original?

This may not have deserved it’s own thread, apologies in advance.

Original wins by miles and only on LP. Would be a great candidate for one of those Slow to Speak 12 inch bootlegs.

I just listened to Bladerunner soundtrack & had a mid afternoon nap

Always reminds me of the Harvey Essential mix - So many things heard 1st time on that

There’s an edit on one of Black Bones releases. I’ll look it out and post.

ps I always think of it as “Birming ham”

Original for me too, could never really get into this cover:

Original for me but also quite partial to the Demis version.

I’ve got the Supersound which is a good 12” pressing as I recall. I always assumed it was the original version, not an edit. I thought all Supersound were original versions from an unofficial official source.

I’ll dig it out and check.

Definitely prefer it to the Beatfanatic version.

This is the version on the Supersound 12”

Always assumed it was the original version.

It’s a great pressing, 45rpm.

Fantastic thank you.

Sounding good. Definitely the album version with a tiny bit of ‘The City’ as it fades.

A complete 180 for me. Didn’t care for it that much when I first heard it. Now I absolutely love it.

Just listened to the whole Earth album on way to work. Feeling suitably cosmic. And yes, it’s clear the Supersound is likely just ripped from a CD version of the album. The snippet of the next track is good for a blend out of Let It Happen. DJ tools!
