I think that in the current popular “cool guy” imagination a lot of this stuff languishes because it doesn’t have a specific micro-genre attached to it but the irony is a lot or the songs in this thread were both more popular than the shit that people lust after and often played in the same sets, radio playlists, boom box pause tapes etc. Revisionist history can annoy…

Can this get an honorary mention? I thought it was US for years, so influential for me. So many great basslines in the early 80’s.
