I just tried to access Facbook and discovered there is a huge outage at Meta and I actually felt relieved

I never post on LinkedIn–it was more of digital business card or whatever. Very unexpectedly got made redundant two weeks ago and now tipping my pinky toe into a posting looking for roles. I’ve always hated writing about myself and I will say–ChatGPT makes it very easy to write a post. It still needs a human touch, but I was very impressed what I could get from it. If I’m required to write a cover letter, I will definitely be utilising it in the future…

I got my new job thanks to LinkedIn which I’m certain was some kind of fluke/luck/act of God.
Agree the user interface is appalling and its wall to wall jeans & sheux train guy types mixed with fridge magnet positivity memes. Shout to @elzorro for the initial navigation tips though

…and a related phone free club night
Small thing, but I’ve recently switched from an iPhone - that I constantly found myself checking - to a “dumb-phone” that has in addition versions of WhatsApp, Maps, YT/Music, with webpage access being such a pain it is not worth trying. In addition, I am increasingly uncomfortable with the few large tech and social media companies controlling the internet, apps and sp for their profit whilst ignoring the negative effect they have on U16s, plus the shite that people post on social media. I still have a laptop for access. I feel much better for the switch, and wasn’t sure whether to upload to the mental health thread.
