Not many DJ’s I can think of with zero presence on socials (only Josey Rebelle of the top of my head). Also isn’t it litterally a booking agents job to promote your gigs, you’d think?

My Mrs freaked out years ago when her phone asked how was your trip to tesco? Now it never leaves the house when on shopping trips…

tbh if I where a well-known female DJ I probably wouldn’t have social media. Imagine all the creeps sliding into you DM’s :face_vomiting:

Or a disabled comic Rosie Jones on death threats, anxiety and anger: ‘I’m not this happy person all the time’ | Rosie Jones | The Guardian (she has to pay someone to do her social media because it’s so toxic)

I don’t get you? Is that in relation to Helena Hauff?

Yes, it all made sense in my head (but I might have been reply-guying to the wrong reply) x

Ricardo, Zip and lots of those sort of people seem to get on alright.

This is now trending on Twitter for no reason (that I can see) other than people think it’s funny. Can’t be much fun to be Gary Numan and wake up to.

They were already well established pre peak social media and one would assume they dont need to hustle it to keep getting bookings

Anyone coming through, like it or loath it absolutely needs to be on there so massive props to anyone like Josey Rebelle and Helena Hauff for managing to navigate around it. Crooked Man is another one

There was an interesting piece in Attack Mag around this a little while ago >

there’s not too much in the article above that you don’t already know - but here’s what we already knew (and they seem almost surprised by): like-minded people who share a common interest can join forums where said interests can be discussed and expanded upon, with mutual respect and a limited risk of a hoard of assholes showing up and ruining everything.

This is suited for here, Wes Kremer one of the best skaters for the last few years, no socials and still has an old flip phone… Note that he’s stoned as a Goat most of the time…
