I was really looking forward to it. Grace and Roisin are a dream and entirely complimentary bill. Two massive, individual, talents. In the last couple of years Roisin has been peaking as both a recording artist and as a live performer,
3 hours of hanging around during what I thought was a below par HMD, and then GJ was late. £60 for an hour and a 3 hour round trip…

Grace’s act, whilst undeniably majestic, is a bit ‘been there, done that’ and was always going to be secondary to RM for me, so very disappointed she cancelled.
Ended up having the craic with a motley acid house OG crew at the back. I have little recollection of GJ - somewhat refreshed - though there is video evidence of me singing along.
wobbled our way back to the brother in laws house in Forest Hill at the end of the night.

I was in Sydney for NY in 2009 and had that choice of a Grace Jones gig or guest list for Frankie Knuckles playing the top floor of a hotel bar. A mate was working in the bar and said just come early and stay, as they weren’t checking tickets till later and he’d also sort us with drinks all night, which is why we opted for that over Grace. Frankie had just had his foot amputated so dj’d sitting down.
