My son is also off inter railing in July/august. Amsterdam, Berlin, Zurich, Venice, Lake Como then back to Paris.

Ha! That sounds about right. Was there for most of the first half of 94 and we were spending 50 Rupees on accomodation and maybe 60 or 70 a day on food and drink and charas/bhang lassi. That’s inflation for you.

when you factor in the frugal year spent saving up to go, another way of saying it would be
50 Rupees a day… to completely miss acid house

Oh, mate, that there is the definition of opportunity cost. Never regretted going to India though. Life changing.
