Tech House, not always a dirty word

Yeah, maybe their output fluctuates between “accessible” house productions and more experimental stuff. As long as you prefer the former, you’ll find some of it under their “Boo Boo & Mace” moniker:

… and don’t forget Andy Rantzen’s solo production… are heavy bleep bangers among them:

I want to do a thread on unplayable / unlistenable records
Inspired by a couple of cuts off Michael J Blood’s album

Picked this one up for a couple bucks and think it is good tech house. Nothing cheesy about it.

Maybe cheesy is not the right word but I do wish tech house was more bolshy. Said this upthread but Proto-tech house on Fresh Fruit, Ifach etc definitely was… so…

Beltram making something like proto-tech house in 1994! Such a versatile producer, to think he was cranking industrial grade techno barnstormers and psychodelic hard acid during the same period.

incredible tekfunk from Dave Angel here, pretty much tech house avant-la-lettre. a bit special… Speaking In Tongues (No Fork Tongue Mix - Dave Angel) - YouTube

definitely not that 2000’s tech house, this whole album is a standout in Jori’s extensive back catalogue. as is his first album on F Comm.

Big fan of some of the sushitech stuff coming out lately

Superb !

Loved Pure Science and pretty much bought everything he released around that time. Always quality and had the funk that so much others lacked.

Can’t decide if s london tech house was unplayable/unlistenable or just lacking fun and appealing to the right kind of mixmag/dj mag reading druggy demographic. Some of the stuff youse are calling tech house on here I would have filed as deep house. I’m never renouncing mr Webster!

Dug this out the other day.
