Taipei, Shanghai, and Beijing recommendations

My partner and I are travelling between these cities from mid June to early July.

Any and all recommendations welcome – food, art, sightseeing, hikes (I hear Taiwan has some good ones) – but maybe not surprisingly, am most interested in record stores, clubs, and live music venues.

are you passing through Hong Kong at all?
