Switch up! (Change The Beat)

What are your favourite tracks/tunes with a beat switch, where the tempo, pattern or time signature suddenly changes?
Been listening to this beauty, which switches around 3 minutes in, and it gave me the idea for a thread.

Love that Timewriter tune.

First one that comes to mind is this - at about 3.30

Dunno if this one counts as ‘suddenly’ changing tempo. Armand getting silly >

don’t know if this was the first one do do “banging house track with a hip hop breakdown in the middle” but it’s the first one i remember. and then, so many more followed.

Both those Satoshi tracks were massive for me, as was this…

Got to shout out Size9 too, in that case : )

Great thread!

Not my favourite, but a very good tool for changing it up from jungle/DnB speed to house. And not a bad tune in it’s own right:

Love this one. Seth Troxler played it at Ministry (after Tenaglia’s Elements into Acid Eiffel) and it blew me away. Slows to a crawl about three quarters through

Weird genre-defying wonkiness. Starts chuggy then after breakdown, around 4:40, it gets much more energetic.

EDIT: that video title is a little misleading. Details here.

This one is a beautiful song that slows down on the keys around 4mins in. Lovely tune:

I immediately thought of KDJ too: almost like a signature move. Half of his tracks feel like they’re changing tempo even if they’re not.

I think i see this record (the LP) more than any other record when looking in second hand spots and it’s usually a couple of quid.

I’ve got a single-sided KDJ 12 downstairs that immediately sprung to mind, was going to dig it out
