En quƩ ciudad vives? Hay muchos lugares en Sevilla, Cadiz y Granada. Los Andaluz generalmente saben donde puedes ir.

Edit: Lol sorry I assumed since you live in Andalucia you spoke Spanish

I’ve always had an interest in Spanish music being half Spanish and really gone in the last few years…So much to discover as there hasn’t been as much attention on Spain as other European countries…There is a cheeky new edits label focussed on Spanish tunes…Check El Guiri Discos, watch out for Trujillo’s killer Spanish Comp on Soundway coming later this year! and there has already been a few wicked balearic reissues to get stuck in with, from the likes of Music From Memory (Suso Saiz, Orchestra De Las Nubes, Musica Esporadica, Joan Biblioni) Emotional Rescue (Javier Bergia) Em Records (Finis Africae) and Nu Northern Soul (Joan Biblioni) which I believe will also reissue the awesome El Turronero 45 (A Harvey Favourite) later this year…Here’s El Turronero and another favourite on the flamenco fusion tip…I’ll keep sharing more

Ta, interesting, this is interesting about the origins of gypsies.

I think the guitar evolved from the sitar from Gypsies moving west from India, the word Tar means string in Sanskrit.

getting away from the sunny guitars, there’s a lot of darker Spanish music too worth checking

Aviador Dro’s early take on electro, and some of the Movida people like Fangoria/Alaska also made decent synth pop

pure pop-wise, at their best Mecano were peerless - Ana Torroja’s voice is trully unique

and then in recent years house has come a really long way people like Sau Poler, Marc Pinol, Javier Busto and the likes of John Talabot all doing interesting things

this cheeky rework of Luke Vibert’s I love acid is proper ace

Here’s a recent cool program of 100% Spanish music for the excellent Discos Paradiso Shop in Barcelona. The first section exploring the roots of Spanish music and the second with a mix of Spanish vibes.
