Iāve always had an interest in Spanish music being half Spanish and really gone in the last few yearsā¦So much to discover as there hasnāt been as much attention on Spain as other European countriesā¦There is a cheeky new edits label focussed on Spanish tunesā¦Check El Guiri Discos, watch out for Trujilloās killer Spanish Comp on Soundway coming later this year! and there has already been a few wicked balearic reissues to get stuck in with, from the likes of Music From Memory (Suso Saiz, Orchestra De Las Nubes, Musica Esporadica, Joan Biblioni) Emotional Rescue (Javier Bergia) Em Records (Finis Africae) and Nu Northern Soul (Joan Biblioni) which I believe will also reissue the awesome El Turronero 45 (A Harvey Favourite) later this yearā¦Hereās El Turronero and another favourite on the flamenco fusion tipā¦Iāll keep sharing more

getting away from the sunny guitars, thereās a lot of darker Spanish music too worth checking
Aviador Droās early take on electro, and some of the Movida people like Fangoria/Alaska also made decent synth pop
pure pop-wise, at their best Mecano were peerless - Ana Torrojaās voice is trully unique
and then in recent years house has come a really long way people like Sau Poler, Marc Pinol, Javier Busto and the likes of John Talabot all doing interesting things
