So what did you play last night?

I didn’t go anywhere so I’m living vicariously through all of you, What did you play at home or away?

Rare DJ outing for me last night at a friends’ house party. Played from 9:30–12:30 and a good time was had!

The Barry White/Can’t Get Enough pianopella version was playing at midnight round ours. Went down a storm.

I just played it here and it got a thumbs up from my 5 year old, so that’s record of the year 2025 in the bag.

Played B2B with a friend at a cool bar that moved away all of the tables and chairs. We played from 21:00 to 6:00 AM…
This was my midnight tune obviously

I took dinner over to my parents for what my dad opined “might be the last time we get to see it”.
So on that hopeful and happy note we took steaks, chips and salad.
My dad has youtube playing constantly in the background. In the summer I made the mistake of logging into my account on their TV.
Since then my feed is constant recommendations for massed Choirs singing Coldplay or songs from
Hair, Heavyweight boxing or Bruce Springsteen playing large outdoor concerts. The algorithm must think I had a midlife crisis back in June.
Anyway, NYe was a constant stream of a conductor called Andre Rieu, who couldn’t look more pleased with himself if he tried. He brings on guests to do a turn. Jermaine Jackson performing ‘Smile’ in front of an enormous backdrop of Michael. A freakish, young girl singer who sounded like Maria Callas. Presumably some callasness was required to whip her voice into shape at that tender age.
Georghe Zamphir appeared to pan-pipe his way through the wedding song from the Godfather.
At one point it seemed every bagpiper in Scotland had arrived to play the Braveheart theme. The director seemed to only be able to point his cameras to people who were either crying or looked like they were about to. I knew how they felt.
We don’t skip the adverts at my parents place. The long and detailed toothpaste commercials seemed apt as we enjoyed our steaks.
In fairness it was a far more enjoyable evening than I’d imagined it might be.
A lot of love and laughter was shared, Happy new year all x
