Roland DJ-505?

After a bit of a hiatus, looking to get things set back up to play some vinyl and digital tunes, and get back into internet radio stuff.

There’s a used Roland DJ-505 for sale in my 'hood, and on paper, it sounds like it meets all my needs (and then some - while I’ve never tried to make any tracks of my own, the idea of drum programming, or even just giving some older tracks a bit more oomph, kind of appeals… although I have no idea how hard/easy this would be!)

I’ve got an old second-hand Vestax VCI-100 SE but not used it for ages, and when I tried to link it up to the old laptop I’d been running Traktor on, it looks like the settings have all gone. TBH I think it’s served me well, and it doesn’t owe me anything.
Similarly, when my old mixer died, I got a cheapo replacement that has worked for the handful of occasions where I’ve infrequently used it, but isn’t great - so I think it’s time for something that can take care of both jobs in one box.

I really haven’t used Traktor beyond the bare basics, and never spent much time trying to get my head around it… not sure if I’ve used Serato before, but presume it’s pretty similar?

505 and serato is a great, fun combo for dj/beat making hybrids, and yes serato tractor v similar.

if you’re eventually aiming towards more public music expressions it’s probably better to get a controller in the rekordbox sphere, as most spots/radio stations/ bars / clubs have pioneer or dennon that uses rekord box

Gnn. It’s sold already. Oh well.
