Original Balearic purveyor Nancy Noise joins Disappearing Dinning Club regulars Neil Thornton & Russell Penn (P.I.D.R) for Record Store Day celebrations at the Dartmouth Arms in NW5. (DJ’s start from 5pm)
Nancy Noise-Nancy was one of the original UK Balearic musical explorers to visit Ibiza back in 1986. Over the summers of ’86 and ’87 she made the nightclubs Glory’s and Amnesia her homes, soaking in the sounds of DJs Nero, Leo Mas and, of course, Alfredo. In the summer of 1987, she met Paul Oakenfold and Ian St Paul on the island, who invited Nancy and her formidable Balearic record collection to play at their new club Future. The musical freedoms that had been absorbed in Ibiza over those summers by Nancy and co. were about to help ignite the explosion of Acid House in the UK.
