there’s at least three different versions of that tune out there: the album version which is a lot smoother (but still great) and where I first heard it; the utterly gorgeous and highly balearic ‘basement tapes’ instrumental version that got included on a couple of their 12’s, which has added spanish guitar and soprano sax; and the original 12" on their own Total Contrast label - deeper, funkier and just a little bit rawer. so good!

I like it when threads like this get resurrected.

I’ve never been too sure about the rules for this genre, but if we’re talking about slower soulful things that make me sway, then I’ve got a couple.
