Pie, Mash and Liquor

Yes, all made in-house, so all different to a degree.

In London last week I went to Cincinnati Chilibomb, it was fun place, friendly owner. Its only been open properly for a couple of weeks so I’ll give it a shout out here as its worth a visit. Its next door to The Horse and Groom.

Need to get back to Manze’s in Walthamstow now things are opening back up a bit. Went to one near brick lane a few years ago when I worked near there but wasn’t as good as Manze.

New pie and mash just opened in the Bush. Went today and it’s really good.

Bush Pie & Mash. A welcome replacement for Cooke’s.

Mmmm yum. Would prefer a mash schmeer/smear, looks like a school ice cream scoop of mash, always had streaks of aluminium tray in ours at school, explains a lot about me and my forgetfulness.

Had lunch in Liverpool last Friday at Maray, Middle Eastern small plates influenced by the Marais in Paris.

This was the Disco Cauliflower. Half a cauli blanched and roasted topped with tahini, chermoulah, harrisa, yoghurt and pomegranate. Was damn good. Fantastic lunch deal - would recommend if in town!

Granada
Friends who live in Barça are off to Granada for a getaway, anyone have any tips for food?
Hopefully they are off to La Plata today for some fried fish. Not jealous.

Edit: The City not the province.

Looking forward to sampling these delights

Thanks I’ll check it out, sounds great

There’s a great Israeli restaurant in London SE1 that does a similar dish, one of the best things I’ve ever eaten

It is indeed, has expanded I think

When I go back home this going to be top of my list…

Reminds me of when we were kids and used to go to bakers get a small tin, hollow it out then go chippy and get it filled with chips and gravy.
