a safe space for pepe enthusiasts to share and discuss the man’s work… honestly i am shocked his career has been so long and multi-faceted. love his older deeper stuff obviously, but also a lot of the stuff he’s put out the past ten years, which is so obtuse, fresh and forward-thinking.
also has anyone seen him DJ? i’ve heard that he did a fair amount of gigs in the late 90s / early 00s but doesn’t seem to have played much the last 10 years so wondering how he makes a living…
“Deep Burnt” is one of those tunes that I feel should be reserved for special moments only. I once heard it played in an early warm-up set between some mellow disco-house and was nearly offended!
He’s a genius for sure, and seems to be a genuine oddball too. I think this is my favorite track of his- “Ghost”.
Funny most ppl still just posted his older shit. He is popping up on social media and recently replied to a tweet where I heavily criticized his more recent music. I was right so I don’t feel bad lol. But it sounds from his newest record that maybe he was taking some of that to heart, def a step in the right direction.
