Open AI - Anyone Playing With It?

Got an email this week about why Mixcloud won’t be doing this.
I have always been more Mixcloud than Soundcloud, Mixcloud always felt more human

I think the ‘AI-agents making music for AI-agents to listen to’ dynamic is a potential future scenario you could see replicated across the economy.

AI agents making money from eg producing content or selling products, then investing that money in financial instruments. Being their own customers, earning and spending, with their only overheads as energy / data centres. And making humans economically redundant.

Cheery I know. (But not very well thought out).

Wow! Thanks for doing that. Really helpful - particularly the video and audio stuff for an old man trying to blag it in a younger man’s game.

Campaign is an advertising industry publication in the UK (and maybe beyond)… Just saw this in their mail-shot… It’s at this point that my brain can’t cope…

Lots of ad-folk tying themselves in knots to justify their existence atm
Going to be a blood-bath (potentially)

Never-ending debate about whether AI kills creativity / creatives or makes it more important by doing the dumb/boring stuff for you. But you know Meta / Google have built their massive wealth by stealing the ad industry’s lunch and they’re not going to stop now, nuh-uh.

Also huge amounts of media money are already spent on models (programmatic) that no-one understands or can prove, so AI will only make that worse. (Hey, we’ve automated your monthly ad spend? No sorry we don’t know where the ads are either)

I don’t see AI as fundamentally different in kind from any other novel technology (in the very general sense). It’s created and used by humans so will be adopted for nefarious and benign purposes. Same with creativity.
