New Album funding my survival equipment for my upcoming visit to the Amazon Rainforest

Hey everyone, I hope you’re well :green_heart:

I’ve just released a new LP called ‘The World Disappears When You Go Into It’, which is part of fundraising for critical survival equipment for my next trip to the Amazon rainforest for Los Bosquesinos Vol. 2. This is also a PhD co-ecoacoustic research project using sound to monitor ecological health— working with the Wampís Indigenous people to help protect their Amazonian territory.

The album is based on four perspectives of a Nymphaea alba (white water lily) pond flower, increasing in magnification, to articulate the trials and tribulations of inflorescence — the blooming of a flower — as a metaphor for cycles of pain, adversity, and transformation, as experienced by both the biological and the spiritual.

The album follows melodies harvested from reciting Sanskrit mantras in meditation — around 30 minutes per day until melodies emerged. I then sang these into my phone and translated them onto instruments.

If anyone here is interested in my work with the Wampís, and would like to get involved in the early stages of Los Bosquesinos Vol. 2, you can read all about what I’m doing via the crowdfunder page, or watch the 10-minute video which explains everything:

As my work with the Wampís people is always reciprocal, and gifting in nature, I would also like to also extent this culture here!

So 1 have a free personal copy of my, and the Wampís of Guayabal’s, Los Bosquesions gatefold LP, who ever wants it, Just reply or DM and I’ll pop it in the post.

100% of all profits from this project go to the Wampís people to help them protect their forests — through building schools for ancestral methods of conservation, and funding their Charip team (the Wampís word for “lightning”), who are first responders to illegal gold mining that is poisoning their people and the rich ecology that dates back to the Pleistocene (over 1 million years).

So far, we’ve built a school, paid teachers for six months, and current album sales will fund the building of a new ‘Charip’ centre — as on 24th December this year, illegal mining gangs burned the previous one down.

Thanks for reading :green_heart:
