It wasn’t particularly scary, (never felt threatened the whole time we were there, though the hotel management told us not to use our phones on the street), it was just a bit miserable/depressing. Old town would be much better to stay in.
Just back. Ah man what a marvellous city. Not laughed that hard in a long time. Could anywhere be more Italian?! Real buzz around town. Scooters, football flags, colours absolutely everywhere. The Maradona shrine in the Spanish Quarter was astonishing. I knew he’s a folk hero but this was next-level. Musicwise, i met Dario aka Mystic Jungle and some of his crew at the shop but sadly no related parties. No hostility or tv gangland clichés whatsoever. Top music bar recommends: Keste, Perditempo, Vesuvius Soul. Very young crowds on streets. Good vibes. Still feels authentic around the centre Well worth checking before the brands finally move in for the kill.
Going tomorrow. Can’t wait!
Was in a supermarket yesterday evening and they were playing “Josephine” 12” French mix.
Very nice.
10/10 very funky.
What a guy! Man U getting rid of McTominay pretty much sums them up at the moment - brilliant player who matches talent with effort and actually giving a fuck.
Only had time for two shops, but they both had good, broad selections.
Can’t speak to prices or conditions as in the first shop (12inch) we were knackered and stumbled across it on the way to a Metro station. I had a quick 2 minutes.
One room all 12”s and another all LPs
Second shop spent a bit more time but only looked through the Italo as we were headed to the airport. Condition wasn’t great, but he did offer discounts for condition, both take cards.
