I’ve got the tyso… loads of fun in one little unit.
I’ve recently got the VST version of VCV so looking looking forward to trying that out!
Loads of Waves plugins going for $29.99. Sale ends today
Great tip thanks, would you recommend anything? Looking at the H Delay for some dubby business…
I got the J37 which is very nice. Also Kramer Tape which I don’t have but is supposed to be good.
Nice thanks I’ll have a gander later.
How to make an album with the Happy Mondays and Factory Records.
If I caught it right, that’s 33p per 12” for pressing
Brilliant. Quick flick through, will watch it properly later. Love how simple it all was back then.
Can anyone recommed a good Guitar VST / plug in? I’m looking for one that can convincingly replicate a strumming and bar chords style playing effect.
Cheers
In case you are struggling with how to work the mixing desk, here’s Martin “play it faster but slower” Hannett to give some help
I have a few of the NI ones, I’m sure they can sound convincing in the right hands but I find the interfaces confusing. I’ve never worked out how to create my own patterns.
This looks interesting

Try the Spitfire LABS guitars:
I used the peel guitar for one of my perennially unreleased tracks and I like how it sounds.
I got this vst as a free gift when buying another plugin from Plugin Boutique. Been impressed with the acoustic results which I wasn’t expecting, compared to electric. Was surprised at the price considering it was a freebie.
This one does barre chords with different strums and not too spendy - free trial as well in case the tone doesn’t suit.
Thanks guys, great suggestions ill check those out
Anyone know or hazard a guess as to how Weatherall got such a gnarly growl on his recorded basses on all those Asphodells/remixes/ and ALFOS style tunes?
On a lot of them there is a real feeling of being able to hear the strings, if that makes sense?
I would imagine that if you have a well recorded bassline, it would just be a case of clever EQ’ing.
I may well be wrong.
I beleive Duncan Gray played live bass on a fair bit of Andrew’s productions and yes I imagine there would be some careful EQ processing going on. Saturation and compression I suspect.
Yeah thanks. I feel like there’s a real sense of air and space too. I know Andrew loved running loads of things through a Space Echo. Maybe that’s the secret sauce!
