I was looking at this one during my night shift. It does have good I/O and routing options. Are you using an interface to for computer playback? And is that just the master into a stereo channel on the mixer?
Yeah. Got multiple outs from an interface so can eg. set up an aux send from DAW, bus stuff into a stereo channel or just monitor DAW main out into mixer via a stereo return. Not that I can find a minute currently…
Headphones on JUNO for £1.99
Must be a mistake

Pants?
Reminds me of this essay by Mark Fell arguing basically the same.
Good looking out. Ordered mine because why not. Do you know anything about the quality?
Those will desintegrate when you touch them, probably.
Had a fun evening recently, hosted by his son Rian on the Ojas/Devon Turbull system. Lots of creativity with four buttons.
Bit left of centre but what is the most cost effective way of shopping a 1210 from the Uk to EU?
It might be worth checking with your local customs guys about this. I’ve had so many bad experiences shipping stuff from the Uk to France - particularly this year - that I’ve now tried to stop buying anything there at all. This year I’ve seen the tax being more costly than the items being bought twice. And this was despite paying tax in the UK. So if I was buying something quite expensive, like decks, I’d definitely check first.
Which country in EU?
Try to google van transportation from uk to your country. We have this service - they collect and load a lot of stuff for a different buyers and charge you some price per weight of your package.
Don’t know how they deal with customs, maybe they’re paying lump sum for the entire load…
It’s already been bought-of an old balearic head in MCR. Needs to get to Amsterdam. Thanks for the advice!
How did you get better? I’ve been messing about on Ableton and plug ins for a couple of years and I’m definitely better than when I first started but don’t really know how to judge my music properly. I see loads of tutoring/mentor groups that seem slightly like scams, but it’d be good to bounce ideas or get tips from people who definitely know what they’re doing.
I really like Audient, the ID models are great and early models are easy to find, sounds great to me
I’m far from pro but significantly better than I used to be! What genre are you producing? Some useful things are using reference tracks to gain an understanding of where your track sits in comparison. And find out if there’s a feedback group or something locally (there are regular Ableton User Group meetings near me for instance).
I used a track feedback service a few times about ten years ago, Audiu I think it was, now gone. It was pretty helpful, helped me understand a lot about bass and clarity in particular.
Depending on genre there may be a sub Reddit providing feedback (often you’re required to give feedback first before you receive feedback)
There are Discord channels too. Check out the mastering engineer Conor Dalton on there (Conor Dalton’s Audio Space it’s called), he is simply superb, I’ve been on a couple of his masterclasses in Glasgow.
I wonder if there are enough producers on here that would provide feedback in a dedicated thread?
(for me I always think you need to ask specific questions when asking for feedback, too often it’s a kind of blanket “what do you think of my track” seeking flattering comments thing)
Thanks for the advice. I’ve seen some of your hardware stuff on here. It sounds great.
I try make old prog house/techno stuff. I really like NousKlaer Audio label, and artists like Eversines. I’m not the I do try to use a reference track, but I start making most stuff by having fun with plug ins and effects, so I don’t have a certain song in mind when I start making a track. I’ve seen a website called Echio where you send music to an artist and they give you feedback but it’s about 25 quid every time so that’s out of the question.
I’ve been looking for communities online, maybe Reddit is the best place, but then you don’t really know who’s giving the advice. I find it hard to judge my own music. I think when you’re having fun making it, it messes with your ability to completely objective, and your ears get used to how it sounds so it sounds good. But when I make something I think is decent I doubt myself cos I made it. I did send one tune to a mastering engineer and he said it was a decent tune and mix. I asked him to be completely honest as I was going to pay to get it mastered to hear the difference anyway.
Check this guy out his videos are very useful he has a good take on finishing music
Cheers. That’s one of my biggest problems I think. Some stuff sounds good in a loop with loads going on, but trying to build a track up to get to that is a challenge.
Thanks! It’s an act of aversion therapy for me posting that stuff online really. Forces me to listen to things from a third person perspective, to stop me being hyper critical about myself and quiet the negativity in my head but also to figure out if anything is worth developing as well.
My biggest obstacle to making more music is time but I also think that’s a bit of an excuse I make ![]()
