if you’ve got a deck and mixer on loan - and assuming you’ve got an amp & speakers - all you’d need is a way to record, and yep - a lil 2i2 into your laptop via audacity should do it. you could probably find a pal who has some sort of USB audio interface who’d loan that as well. seems like everyone has one, i just saw one a prosonus on craigslist for $45. cheap!
@elzorro’s suggestion about the studio is a good one - good to practice in different environments, with different gear. getting a lot of practice in at home will really sharpen up the skills, and it’s damn near free.
Hmm. I had a Vermona Filter Lancet for a while. Could never really get anything useful out of it, just seemed to be constant self oscillating LFO madness. This sounds sort of similar
Looking for any advice/experience: I’m looking for some kind of midi drum pad/s that you can actually play with sticks. Don’t have the space for a e-drum kit, but definitely don’t just want a finger drum thingy. Just a simple 4-8 pads that will transmit midi notes/velocity/etc.
Any TP crew still using vintage samplers? Anyone recommend modern storage solutions instead of floppies or SCSI? Im asking as I’ve just taken my K2000 out of my mum’s garage and surprisingly it still powers up after being in storage nearly 30 years.
Gotek + Usb has worked well in my rm1x and s900 (i sold the latter)
Shouldn’t cost more than £60 or so and easy to fit yourself (in place of floppy drive)
