Have a two questions around how to get started firstly, with ripping copies of my vinyl to digital and secondly, how to go about recording a demo of a live mix?
Have been buying records for home listening, since uni, but recently been wanting to expand on this and explore putting together a mix to pitch for a radio show and DJ’ing.
I currently only have one 1210, friends have offered to lend me another deck and mixer and have been playing around with virtual DJ in the interim.
Other than that, what other equipment would I need? Someone recommended the Focuswrite Scarlett 2i2 Soundcard and the software Audacity. Any other suggestions?
Or would it be better to go into a studio to record a mix? (Heard RVM in Deptford are good, but think they’re now shut?)
Coming at this with very little technical background, so super simple explanations are welcomed! I also don’t have a ton of money to spend on the set up, so any low/mid price or second hand suggestions also encouraged!
Thanks in advance, feel like this is a super supportive forum to ask for help!
