Spending 5 days with the family in Munich over Easter half term. First time visit so any and all tips welcome: eats, drinks, interesting places, culture, family friendly spots etc.
Any record shops worth a look?
Cheers in advance x

do you mean Public possession? there’s also Best records, which is owned by the brother of Daniel Best - sonar kollektiv/jazzanova.
if u cross the river and go up the hill there’s a killer asian joint that does life changing duck noodle soup
the city centre is cute, and walkable, also lots of cool parks for the gromits to burn energy
Cheers. Yes got my cities confused there ![]()
Bar Charlie is a great little spot.
I adore Munich. Yeah you should definitely look in on the Public Possession crew I think they moved shop a couple years ago. Englischer Garten is an amazing park, you could spend a whole day lazing around and the river (with the surfers!) is really lovely–kids will dig it, too. Get a beer and lunch at the Chinesische Turm Hofbrau (avoid the central Hofbrau it’s a tourist trap). If you’re into art the Alte Pinakothek is brilliant and houses one of my favourite paintings of all time - Durer’s self-portrait. It’s easily navigable by public transit but it is a bit wonky–there are two lines (U-bahn & S-bahn) which are managed by different companies and integrated by a third. It can be confusing figuring out which ticket to get. Also, German trains do not run on time and are the worst (and most expensive) in Europe. Go figure.
there’s a couple places where you can do this on the deschutes in central oregon, but this is the first time i’ve seen it done in a city!
Did they re-instate the standing wave? A while ago I thought they buggered it up, council workers or some such from memory?
oof just read that ![]()
Optimal Records is pretty good.
