This was the first way I ever made music.

Me too.

I remember a few of my early blends:

Dennis Edwards - Don’t Look Any Further Vs Eric B - Paid In Full.
Afrika Bambaataa - Planet Rock (Beats) Vs Anita Baker - Watch Your Step.
Afrika Bambaataa - Perfect Beat (Beats) Vs Class Action - Weekend (Acapella).
James Brown - Funky Drummer (Beats) Vs Luther Vandross - She’s So Good To Me.

Magical days. I probably taped the top 40 over them the following week.

Beck’s ā€˜Get Real Paid’ & Kraftwerk’s ā€˜Tour De France’ go great together, perfect for a long mix, bringing that gorgeous little melody in TDF in & out of the mix.
Still got a tape i made in the late 90s with that blend on it.

I also used to make my own edits of the mixed sections of the Streetsounds Electro comps.

Does using YouTube count?
A fun blend of of LCD Soundsystem and Miles Davis

I think it does, especially if you bring the track in afterwards.

I used to be quite partial to blending Spastik with Paperclip People - Throw. Kept it going for about 10 minutes. Intense, tracky business

I heard David Morales do a fantastic mix between his own dub of Dream Lover and Throw, and then into the full vocal mix of Dream Lover. The room exploded
