Had an ear infection two weeks ago and it’s come out of nowhere.
Have any of you dealt with it before? Any advice?

Yep. Mine reduced over time, the brain adjusts to tune it out. Doesn’t stop it being frustrating as hell though. I would just get on the CBD oil or gummies to chill until you’ve kind of worked through it. There’s apps like this to replace the noise with other sounds: Enjoy Tinnitus Relief with the ReSound Relief App | ReSound Australia
Previous thread on it may help.
Were you taking any medication? I’m pretty sure mine was if not caused by, certainly exacerbated by antibiotics
I took amoxicillin for the ear infection.
Just this week I started experiencing weird intermittent bass booming attached to speaking voices. Googled it but had to stop that as it was all bad news. Will make a ENT appointment this week.

ive had Tinnitus about 6 years now, but it got a bit worse a year and a half ago after being a dumb fuck and producing with headphones on too loud for way too many hours, that sent me on a spiral of anxiety which only made it worse. Had to go on sleeping tablets as i was only getting 4 hours a night. Long story short I found a ENT company that specialised in T, met proper qualified people that also had T and got the best advice ever, which was basically get used to it, if you fight it youll ruin your life. I stayed on the sleeping tablets almost a year, put on 2 stone (side affect of the tablets unfortunately) Lucky for me i was already into breath work and CBT. I worked on my mental health and how to properly find relaxation and now im off the sleeping tablets and have lost half what i put on in the last 4 months. T is no joke, people top themselves over it and spend all their money seeking out snake oil cures, there isnt any, well not for hearing damage related T at least. Look after your ears ! Im super aware now and can still produce and Dj occasionally, I have a Db meter on my phone and carry loop earplugs when im going to areas with louder volumes than normal. I cut out caffeine as that was a trigger, some foods also.

I went to an ENT who told me to just deal with it, and being the kind who gets second opinions I went to another who saw that somehow I have managed to perforate my ear drum. Said the tinnitus is a result of that and o should be patient. I will say that this has made me be even more aware of the value of my ears and there is no way I’m listening to anything at the volume I was previously.
